The unofficial start to summer is here! We went up to NH for the long weekend and enjoyed Storyland, a nature walk, and fun in the sun with the babe. It was a great way to kick off summer 2017.
Last summer, I went back to work and was trying to figure out the whole working parent thing so we didn’t do as much as I think we will this time around. Below is my summer 2017 bucket list. What’s on yours?
Visit the zoo
Natalie absolutely loves animals. Whenever a dog walks by she goes “dog dog dog dog” basically until the dog gets so far away she can’t see it anymore. We went to the zoo on her first birthday but it was off season so some areas were closed but she was amazed at the ones she did see. We have a small zoo here in town which is so convenient and I can’t wait for her to see the lions, monkeys, donkeys, and birds.
Head to the beach
Growing up I was about 2 hours away from the beach which means my friends and I would always head out early and spend all day laying on the sand. Fortunately for us, we now are only an hour from the beach which makes it easy to do a quick beach day! Natalie loves the water so I can’t wait to see her reaction to seeing the ocean.
Walk around Boston
We live outside of one of the greatest (I may be a little bias) cities in the world. There is so much culture, so much history, and so much food. From the North End to Back Bay, there are plenty of things to explore around this city.
Day trip to the Cape
One of my best friends is renting a house on Cape Cod and I can’t wait to bring Natalie to see her! The cape is only about an hour away which is awesome. I can’t wait to walk around, see the beach, and sample all the delicious seafood.
Play at the park
We have plenty of parks here in town and I want to try to get to them at least once a week. Natalie’s favorite thing to do is swing. The higher she goes, the more excited she gets. I have a feeling she is going to be a little daredevil.
Grab ice cream at least twice a
There is a local ice cream place down the street from us that not only has really great flavors, but they also have food in a kid friendly atmosphere which is very important when you have an energetic one year old. Another perk? It’s right across the street from the park. I can’t wait to get ice cream then walk over to the swings for some after work/daycare fun.
Below are some fun activities in the area that are great for anyone!
